Rev. Adrian Powell has been a minister in the Church of God (Anderson, IN) since 1987. Raised as a Roman Catholic, he was very religious as a youth, with a great interest in the Bible stories he read in his youth classes.
He married a Church of God Ministers daughter and began to go to her church. After being saved after watching the television program of Christian Apologetics expert John Ankerberg, he began to read systematic theologies, books of apologetics and church history for his own education and understanding while reading the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation twice. He also began reading books by Calvin Miller, Phillip Yancey, Francis Schaffer and Max Lucado while being called to ministry.
He has served several churches as an Associate Pastor, Pastor and Church Planter. He was educated at Malone University majoring in sociology, and received his theological training through the Anderson School of Theology extention program for ministers.
He has a way of connecting with congregations and audiences that allows him to bring people of all backgrounds together. He also is a great believer in the unity of the Church in bringing together an ethncially diverse and broad audience to the Glory of Jesus Christ.
